Despite the label nobody is picking up an actual skill, the word is shorthand for staged dominance dressed as instruction. One partner plays the eager learner while the other barks orders and corrects posture, all of it scripted rather than any real lesson. The pull is the slow build of control, commands followed and bodies bent into position on cue.
